In Adagio we are meant to have a Welcome pack with instructions on how to use the different items in the rooms such as washing machine, AC etc, we should also have a guide for the local area, a room directory with the different services in the hotel. Before the solution, we were printing all of this and at check in the guest would receive a big document with over 20 pages, which we knew ended up in the bin most of the times, and for shorter stays it was a waste as the guest wouldn’t need most of the information on there.
We do not have telephones in any of the rooms in the hotel. Although there was information in the room on how to WhatsApp reception, most of guests will end up calling the external number or simply coming down and queuing at reception. We have a small team and a small reception, so this was not great.
Since the solution has been implemented guests from check in can retrieve all the hotel information and surrounding areas by simply scanning a QR code displayed throughout the hotel. WhatsApp is also integrated on the platform and the guest are now communicating effectively with the hotel team.
